The comparison you are making is actually incomparable. Context matters. In the war between Israel and the Midianites, judgment fell because of deliberate sexual corruption that led Israel into idolatry.

The virgins were spared specifically because they had not participated in that corruption. This was not a license for sexual abuse as it was with Muhammad; it was a distinction based on moral responsibility.

Therefore, it's important to understand that Israelite law placed clear restrictions and protections on how captives were treated—something completely absent in Muhammad’s case.

• Marriage, not exploitation: Sexual relations outside of marriage were forbidden under Israelite law (Exodus 22:16–17). There was no allowance for rape or sexual ownership.

• Dignity and rights for captive women: If a captive woman became a wife, she was to be treated with dignity and given legal protection, including the right to leave if the marriage failed (Deuteronomy 21:10–14).

• Compassion and inclusion: Numbers 31 shows that the spared captives underwent purification rites, meaning they were formally brought into the covenant community (Numbers 31:19–20). This reflects integration and care, not abuse.

Within Israelite custom, younger captives would become servants, while those of marriageable age could marry—under strict legal and moral boundaries.

So when people try to draw a comparison, they miss the point entirely.

The biblical account describes protections for prisoners of war and pathways into a stable life within a moral framework.

Muhammad’s account involves the sexual use of a child.

These are not morally equivalent. Not even close.

Illiterate is better than abuser though. Case in point, can you name 1 Bible prophet that married an underage girl?

Yusuf Khan: What about: In 1170 CE, Eleanor of England (around 9 years old) married Alfonso VIllof Castile (around 14/15). In 1564, a three-year-old boy was married to a two-year-old girl in an English court, though such extreme cases involved a formal agreement with the expectation of consent at a later, more mature age. In 1641, Mary, Princess Royal (age 9), married the future William I1, Prince of Orange (age 15).

The cases you mention are between adolescents with expectation of consent later, Mohammed does not fall in this category either. He molested a 9 year old before any kind of consent took place. Mohammed married Aisha when she was 7 and consummated the marriage when she turned 9. Are you going to answer, or does the Bible have better morals? I want to follow the book with the better morals.
